WASHINGTON (September 18, 2025) — Today, the Council for Innovation Promotion (C4IP) launched www.I-MAKexposed.com, a new website to combat the patent misinformation spread by the Initiative for Medicines, Access, and Knowledge (I-MAK):
Frank Cullen, Executive Director of the Council for Innovation Promotion, issued the following statement:
“For too long, I-MAK has sought to undermine the intellectual property framework that drives American innovation – using flawed data, misleading claims, and media influence to push policies that would jeopardize future medical and technological breakthroughs.
“C4IP launched I-MAK Exposed to provide policymakers, journalists, and the public with accurate, expert-vetted information. The website links to key studies and commentary highlighting the essential role of strong IP in U.S. competitiveness and patient care.
“The persistent distortions advanced by I-MAK do real damage. They mislead the public, misinform the press, and risk driving legislative outcomes that would stall innovation and harm patients. With I-MAK Exposed, we aim to set the record straight – and remind Americans what’s at stake if policymakers undermine the intellectual property system that fuels discovery, cures, and progress.”
